Jose Angel Ramirez aka Wasa as he is known, Venezuelan and Caraqueño, begins his career at the age of 20 (1998) in a subsidiary of the well-known cable television network HBO, his name: Vc Studios, which was responsible for all operations of the recently started MUNDO Olé then better known as A&E MUNDO in Latin America. It begins in the Master Control Area in the Preparation Room Area that was responsible for entering the transmission lists and preparing the programs and promotions to the system. As a good young man and hungry for knowledge, he went through all positions until he reached the highest, Master Control Supervisor, during all that promotion was when he had his first flirting with the video edition. Vc Studios and A&E MUNDO owned the most advanced AVID Media Composer roomsAdas for the time, having the ease and access to the rooms and publishers, Wasa began to be interested in this world of video editing, thus making the decision to be certified as AVID Media Composer Editor. Over the years, Wasa was refining and improving his post-production skills through the best television channels in his country Venezuela , among these are TELEVEN, RCTV, PUMA TV, Sun Channel and E! Entertaiment Television to name a few.
For the year 2006 he begins to mix his TV work with advertising, getting to work with the best Production Houses in the country such as Prime Time, Animando and Dos Literas with which he won several international awards such as PROMAX and the New York Festivalsand with the most prestigious brands like Colgate-Palmolive, Unilever, SC Jonhson just to mention a few . In the following years, Wasa specializes in several editing and post-production platforms, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro among others. In 2011, thanks to Leo Zuloaga (Professional Colorist @ leozuloaga.colorist on Instagram), he met the DaVinci Resolve, opening up even more possibilities to his post-production skills.
By 2015 he decides to internationalize and build on the city of Miami where he is certified in Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. In the city of Miami, he decides to enter the world of video production with Eduardo “Bubba” Vieira, working for countless artists and television plants such as TELEMUNDO. The opportunity to be in the USA opens the door for him to apply his knowledge in editing and post production in short films by Miriam Pinedo and Tunic Productions, making several pieces in which STEVEN (2017) and PORCELAIN DOLL (2019) stand out. which have been awarded prestigious awards such as Best Dark Comedy at the AMAW New York Film Festival 2018 and more recently Best Thriller Film at the International Short Film Awards 2021. In conclusion, they can have full confidence that their production will be carried out with the best quality standards.
